Adım Adım Lefke

Soli Ancient City (Basilica and Theatre)
Founded by the Athenians in the 11th century BC, this city was one of Cyprus' richest kingdoms. Among the most important remains that have survived to the present day are the Roman Theater, which captivates with its acoustics, and the famous “Swan Mosaic” that adorns the floor of the basilica dating back to the early Christian period.

Vouni Palace
Built on the edge of a cliff approximately 250 meters above sea level, it is the only Persian palace of its kind. Although constructed in the 5th century BC to monitor the pro-Greek city of Soli, today it captivates visitors with its 360-degree panoramic views and stunning sunsets.

Petra Tou Limnidi (Yeşilırmak Rock)
This small island rising in the middle of the sea, just opposite the village of Yeşilırmak, is considered the starting point of Cyprus's history. Excavations dating back to the Neolithic period have uncovered the oldest remains and agricultural tools associated with the first settled human life on the island here.

Piri Mehmet Pasha Mosque
Located in the center of Lefke, the mosque was built in the Ottoman style on the remains of a church dating back to the Lusignan or Byzantine period. Named after Piri Mehmet Pasha, the mosque was commissioned by his grandson and stands out for its cut-stone architecture and the Ottoman-era gravestones in its courtyard.

Orta Mosque (Sheikh Nazım Mosque)
These mosques, which form the fabric of Lefke's neighborhoods, have been centers of the city's social and religious life, in harmony with Ottoman civil architecture. With their simple yet impressive stonework and minarets, they are silent witnesses to the Ottoman presence in Cyprus that have survived to the present day.

Lefke Aqueducts (Venetian Arches)
These arches, which originated in the Venetian period and were developed during the Ottoman period, were used to transport water from the Troodos Mountains to the fertile gardens of Lefke. These engineering marvels are one of the main reasons Lefke is known for its “water and greenery.”

Acendu Fountain
Located at the eastern entrance of Lefke, this historic fountain is an elegant blend of Venetian and Ottoman architecture. Legend has it that those who drink from its water cannot leave Lefke; it is a structure of architectural and folkloric value that reflects the region's water culture.

Lefke Mining Museum (Vasıf Palace)
It is located within the historic Vasıf Palas building. It exhibits the history of copper mining (CMC), which changed the fate of the region, as well as the lives of the workers and related documents.

CMC Mining Loading Pier
This rusty and imposing pier stretching out into the sea at Gemikonağı beach is where tons of copper were once exported to the world. Although no longer in use, it offers a powerful silhouette symbolizing the region's industrial past and an impressive atmosphere for photographers.

Sheikh Nazım Kibrisi Dervish Lodge and Tomb
The complex consists of the house, mosque, and tomb of Sheikh Nazim Kibrisi, the world-renowned leader of the Naqshbandi order. The dergah, which receives a large influx of visitors, especially on candlelit nights and religious holidays, is the region's busiest spot in terms of religious tourism.

Cengiz Topel Monument
Erected in memory of Pilot Captain Cengiz Topel, who was shot down and martyred while flying to support the Turkish Cypriot people in 1964. The monument, located close to the site of the incident, recalls a sad and heroic page in Turkish Cypriot history.
